About Alon
AI safety educator and advocate working to help the public understand where AI is headed, and why it matters that we pay attention now.
What Alon Does
AI Safety Education
Alon runs free public workshops with the AI Safety Awareness Project, helping people understand what AI can do today, where the technology is headed, and the risks that matter most. The workshops feature live demos, hands-on exercises, and are built to be accessible to anyone regardless of technical background.
Community Organizing & Advocacy
Alon leads ControlAI's Seattle citizen group and is an active member of the Torchbearer community, doing grassroots AI safety advocacy work in the Seattle area. In April 2026, he attended PauseCon in DC, where he met with his congressional representatives and connected with others working on AI policy.
Background
Alon has over a decade of experience in software and reliability engineering, including eight years as a Site Reliability Engineer at Google, with earlier roles in government and startups. He has also completed the AGI Strategy course through BlueDot Impact. That combination of engineering experience and policy training gives him a grounded, technical perspective on the systems being built and how quickly these capabilities are advancing.
